Hey folks!

First of all, welcome to The Traveling Mug! Thanks for being here!

Quickly, let me tell you a little bit about myself. Over the last five or six years, I’ve spent farrrrr too much time in coffee houses working on my latest paper/project/article. I’ve always loved how each coffee shop has a different ambience, yet they all have one thing in common: bringing creative & caffeinated junkies together.

With my obession of coffee, and my love of travel, I’ve decided to combine two! In photos and stories on the site, I’ll also be featuring the true traveling mug.

Keep an eye out for this little guy to be featured in random stories & photos.

While I’m unfortunately not doing any traveling or visiting any coffee houses at the moment, I’m still planning on putting up a weekly post. Hopefully these posts will perc up your spirits while quarantines are taking place (see what I did there?)

  • Coffee culture:  I love learning new things, and I certainly have a lot left to learn about coffee. I’m looking forward to doing more research on coffee nuances & sharing them with you! (to answer your question, yes, I’m a huge nerd)

  • Travel tips: Earlier this year, before the coronavirus pandemic began, I was living in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England as I worked toward my Multimedia Journalism master’s. While I’m back in the states now, I’m going to share some travel do’s and don’ts from my time “across the pond.”

  • Coffee Conversations: I believe that some of the most authentic conversations are shared over a cup of coffee. Most importantly, I’m interested in talking to the baristas & owners behind the counter who are responsible for making each of our neighborhood coffee houses one of a kind.

While it looked like a warm day out, the wind from England's northeastern coast said otherwise.
Truth be told, I spent way too much money on cafe con leches while in Barcelona.
If you’ve made it this far, thanks for reading!

I’m looking forward to taking this journey together!
